Founded in Halmstad, Sweden in 1995 by former Carcass guitarist Michael Amott, Arch Enemy became a flagship melodic death metal act known for virtuosic guitar work and female-fronted extreme vocals. In 2026 the band unveiled American vocalist Lauren Hart (ex-Once Human) as their new frontwoman, succeeding Alissa White-Gluz.
