W.A.S.P.W.A.S.P. was founded in Los Angeles, California in 1982 and rose to fame as one of the most notorious shock-rock heavy metal acts of the 1980s, built around frontman Blackie Lawless's theatrical stage shows. The last remaining original member, Lawless still leads the band in 2026 on their ongoing 40th-anniversary world tour.
